Beyond the door – Keyhole painting
“a world of fantasy,
a world of magic,
a world filled with wonder..
Does it exist?
Will I find it…beyond this door?”
As a child, I used to think that maybe one of the doors I open would lead me to a world different from the one we live in. As I grew up, my ability to think this way vanished, or maybe I was forced to face the reality, that is, Life.
I drew this probably to remind myself of the times I used to think beyond the ‘set’ limits, draw with such pure joy and not just to prove to my peers..my worth or that I could achieve something.
Imagine without any limitations. Imagination, childish innocence and curiosity, and the will to look at the world in a different way are probably the best tools an artist can have.
I believe in this very strongly, even as I succumb to the pressure myself.
